Sand Lily Leucocrinum montanum Camas/Triteleia/Yucca family (Asparagaceae)
This is a lovely, delicate plant having six-pointed star-shaped flowers at or near ground level. The plant blooms in early spring. The petals and are all united into a long tube. The name comes from the Greek "leukos" ("white") and "crinon" ("lily").
Plants matted, less than 4 inches high. Leaves , from one to eight inches long, about 1/4" wide, smooth. Flowers are white, few to several clustered, from 2-4" long arising from that are below ground. The seed form below ground.
